Children from 5 years through to 8 years. Children may be absolute beginners or developing their game but not old enough for under 12 modified cricket yet. Participants are divided up into 2 groups based on age and ability levels.

A combination of skills activities and modified games and matches with plenty of fun and fitness. Soft balls and plastic wickets and light weight bats.

Participants will receive a pack with a shirt, hat, ball, bat and other goodies

Sunday mornings 9.30am beginning 13/11/16 with 6 sessions before Christmas and 4 after the holiday break.

Venue is Chisholm Reserve (club’s home ground)

Chris Roe will be coaching/co-ordinating with the help of parents

Children who are,8 or 10 years of age and are at a level where they can use basic skills in a match format (but don’t wish to play modified under 12 cricket with a hard ball or are too young for under 12 modified cricket – see below)

 

NB – keen players could do both Milo cricket and T20 Blast

8 per side matches with 16 overs per team using soft ball, short pitch and players batting in pairs and bowl/wicket-keep in pairs

Saturday mornings 9am to 10.45am beginning last weekend in October with 8 weeks pre-christmas and 4 weeks post Christmas.

Venue is Boss James Reserve in Hampton

Parents  need to volunteer to coach/co-ordinate teams that are formed

Under 12 Rookies


Children who have turned 8 before 01/09/16 and have basic cricket skills

Full team cricket with a hard ball on a proper pitch but with modified rules

$200 incl playing shirt and cap

Sat mornings. Home matches are at Sandringham Secondary College and away matches are also played. One training night a week will also be held

Training usually Thursday    4.00-5.30 @ Holloway Road

Parents  need to volunteer to coach/co-ordinate teams that are formed

Under 12 other teams (usually in D Grade, C Grade and A Grade)


Children who have turned 8 before 01/9/16 and are not older than 11 at 01/9/16.

Full team cricket with a hard ball and mixture of one day matches and 2 day matches. Players have 8 balls maximum per over and retire at 30, otherwise generally normal cricket rules apply

$200 incl playing shirt and cap

Sat mornings. Home matches at Sandringham Secondary College or Chisholm Reserve and away matches are also played. One night training per week.

 

Training usually Wednesday 4.00-5,30@ Holloway Road
