Wilson Bags 5, Avro With A Ton
The 1sts followed up their remarkable batting recovery last week with an impressive bowling display against Le Page Park. John Wilson featured prominently with 5/64 from 28 overs, while Luke Dallas picked up 3/47 to help the boys record a 44-run win.
The 2nds were unable to reel in Washington Park's score of 210, despite a 79-run 3rd wicket effort from Nick Singh (56) and Kim Pitt (31). Unfortuantel, it wasn't enough as we fell short by 56 runs.
The 3rds had an early day, quickly chasing down Bentleigh ANA's 120 with John Avramides reaching a whirlwind 101 in under 25 overs. Captain Bret Bailey ably assisted with 48*.
The 4ths were unlucky in defending their decent total of 237 against Bentleigh ANA. Ryan Pearce took 3/55 and Ryan McMurphy took 3/50, but poor fielding ending up costing the game with Bentleigh making the total with a few balls to spare to win by 2 wickets.
The 6ths got off to a great start with Oliver Read (0/31 off 10 overs) and Jason Crossley (0/18 off 13 overs) restricting Carnegie South to just 70 at Tea in their pursuit of our 216. That set the platform for Brian King (4/4) and Mick Cutler (4/45) to rip through Carnegie's batting order, eventually knocking them over for 154.
