1st Robbed, 6ths Into The Grand Final
Weather robbed the 1sts of a probable victory in their prelim final against Brighton Union, with the Zebras falling short by only 5 wickets. Day 1 was filled with heroics as Danny Corp (77*) and Luke Manders (46) rescued the innings from a precarious situation to help build a respectable 7/228.
Day 2 started well until rain interrupted play with Brighton on 2/70. Play resumed over an hour later and the Zebras struck with 3 more wickets before rain closed out the days play, ending a good season on a sour note.
The 6ths recovered from 2 collapses on Day 1 with Chris Bishop (49) very good but with little support from the other batsmen as they limped to all out for 134. But Mick Kettle came out all guns blazing, taking 4 wickets as the 6ths steamrolled Cluden, all out for 88. The 6ths now face Washington park next week in the grand final.
