1sts In 3-Way Fight For Finals

In a full round up of the weekends games:

As mentioned the 1st XI bats failed to fire against Bentleigh Uniting, being dismissed for 133 at Centenary Park. The home side reeled in the total with 10 overs to spare.

The 2nd XI also fell to Bentleigh Uniting, reaching 8/133 from their alloted overs at Chisholm Reserve in pursuit of the visitors 4/178. The 2nds are now placed 7th on the ladder and will almost certainly now miss out on the finals.

The 3rds brought a bright spark to the day with an impressive win over Aspendale/Edithvale at Memorial Oval. Big John Avramides continued his impressive run of form with a well-earned 90 to take our total to 169. Hayward then starred with the ball, taking 4/16 as we held the home team to 8/108.

The 4ths made 125 in their match against Elwood with Peter Mannix making a fighting 49 at Sandy Sec. College. Unfortunately, the bowling lacked its usual potency with Elwood only losing two wickets before reaching the total with 13 overs to spare.

The 6ths continued their excellent season with a pounding victory against 3rd-placed East Bentleigh Central. Batting first, the 6ths made a stunning 292 off their 38 oversĀ  - that's a run rate of 7.68. Chris Bishop made 92, Adam Rowley 63 and Peter Fletcher returned to form with 53. The 6ths then bowled the home side out for 187 with Mick "Sniffadog" Cutler taking 4/44 from 7 overs.
