East Sandy recorded 5 wins from all 5 teams to finish the year strongly, giving all teams high hopes for a finals spot.
The 1st XI easily defended their 8/246, bowling Le Page out for 78 with Luke Manders ( 4/33) and Barney (3/25) doing the damage. The visitors were then invited to follow-on and the boys had Le Page 4/79 before stumps were drawn.
The 2nds performed well in their matched that was reduced to a one-dayer, reaching a total of 8/151 with Ryan Murphy performing well with the bat for a well-earned 74. Roey (2/9), Tim Berger (2/12) and Patty Singh (2/20) then tore into Hampton United to have the home team all out for 84.
The 3rds followed up last week's excellent bowling display to easily overhaul Brighton District's 143. Dewy (49*) and Graeme Diggle ( 34*) helped the team along to 3/161.
Scott Campbell followed up his century from last week to help the 4ths to a comfortable victory over Morrabbin West, taking 3/21. Stu Montfort also performed well with the ball, taking 4/45.
Finally, the Sixths were convincing in defending their total of 6/282, knocking North Caulfield, Glenhuntly over for 139. Jacob Gatt (3/3), Brian King (2/10) and Mick Kettle (2/20) were the pick of the bowlers. The Sixths then sent North Caulfield back into bat with only 11 overs left in the day, narrowly missing out on the outright victory by a matter of inches. Click here for the full match report.
