U18's Premiers 2016/17

Congratulations to our U18's who won their Grand Final last night against Le Page Park at Destructor Reserve.

After captain Paddy Inglis lost the toss his bowlers routed the opposition for 102 in 17.2 overs. Everyone chipped in with regular wickets but Harry Osbourne 3/15 (3 overs) and Max James 3/18 (3 overs) were the stand outs. After the innings break the batsmen went about bludgeoning the bowling to all corners of the ground to chase down the required runs in 12 overs. Matt Harris (13) put on 22 for the first wicket then Ben Pryor (9) had a 38 run partnership before going out with the score on 60. Paddy Inglis (18no) then joined Blunden to hunt down the runs at breakneck speed.

Matt Blunden was named Man of the Match with his 54no featuring seven 4's & two 6's.

The lads were the standout team for the year finishing top of the ladder. 20 boys played during the season, many balancing both school and senior club cricket. Thanks must also go to coach Nick Knight for his leadership of the group.
