1st XI in struggle for result
The first week of Round 11 saw the Longmuir boys struggle to post 126 against Mackie who reached 2/36 at the close of play.
There are likely to be a few twists and turns left in this game which was played with plenty of the tenseness that typically evolves when the two traditional rivals meet. The 1st XI never got on top of a Mackie and they slid from 1/32 to 6/88 on their way to 126. Skipper Mark Devereaux (30) the only bat able to control their main bowler who finished with 6/51. Mackie responded with some heavy hitting but Mark Jenkin struck early whilst Mark Devereaux struck removing their form batsman in the penultimate over to have the hosts at 2/36.
This Saturday is the final hit out for the 1st XI before finals and a win could see them gain the coveted double chance whilst a loss could see them fall to 4th.
