5 of 6 teams Salute In Round 9

The Longmuir boys (8/152) had to dig deep to edge past Bentleigh Uniting (146) in round 9. The 1's got a solid start from Brett Gibb (29) and Odin Duesbury (27) but our middle order faltered as Unitings medium pacers got on a roll and it required Matt Ryan (7*) and Ryan Woodward (11*) to get us home from a precarious 8/130. The victory effectively locked up a finals spot but wins in the final two rounds will secure a home final and the all important double chance.

The Woolnough boys were chasing down an imposing 4/324 and at one stage were 6/84 looked as though they were going to be bundled out. along comes Brenden Smith who hit his way to 91no and got the boys with some lower order partnerships to 10/219 (67 overs). A great recoverey which continues the fighting form that has been shown since Christmas.

The 3rd's, 4th's, 5th's and 6th's all recorded great wins with some truly outstanding all round contributions. The best of these being Liam Mouat in the 3rd XI following up his 76no batting at 9 with 4/35 whilst in the 4th XI Paddy Inglis following up his 3/35 with his maiden century of 110no.

The 1st XI plays Kingston Heath at home this week and are looking to put a consistant batting and bowling effort together in preparation of finals. We would love to see as may supporters down at Chisholm Reserve to cheer them on their way.
