Pook the destroyer with 7 wickets

David Pook took a sensational 7/56 off 22.1 overs to propel the 4ths to a 110 run win against Elwood 4. All bowlers contributed with tidy spells restricting the scoring rate which gave David the opportunity to bedazzle the opposition batsmen. This leaves the boys 5th on the ladder needing to string some consecutive wins together to push into finals contention.

The 1sts bowled Elwood out for 167 to also have them in 5th place. A win against West Bentleigh in round 7 will see them push into the four. The bowlers started sensationally having the home side 5/50 but a strong middle order partnership had the game tightening up. With Luke Dallas sidelined by injury Mark Devereaux threw the ball to new spin sensation Brett Gibb who promptly broke the threatening partnership. It was then just a matter of time as the last 5 wickets fell for 23 runs. The pick of the bowlers was Mark Jenkin 4/55 (22 overs) ably supported Jaymee Saleem 3/46 (18 overs) and Brenden Bennett 2/17 (5.4 overs).

The 3rds had a remarkable win over Moorabbin West. After the boys being bowled out for 98 last weekend they came out and destroyed Moorabbin's batting line up for 81 runs. Best bowlers were Scott Campbell 3/21, Stephen Usher 3/26 and Nick Knight 2/10.

The 5ths also rolled on to their second win of the season against Mackie. After belting up 3/319 the previous week, Mackie were never in the hunt being restricted to 7/165. Best bowlers were Luke Dalwood 3/31 and Tim Edwards 2/34. The 6th remain undefeated after winning by forfeit whilst the second after putting themselves into a good position against Elwood 2 capitulated with a disappointing show with the bat.

Dont forget the the T20 boys are playing inthe Grand Final of the T20 comp on Tuesday 9/12/14 against Washington Park at Packer Reserve. The game tees off at 5:15pm sharp. It would be great to see as many as possible get down to the ground to cheer the lads on.
